In-Flight Entertainment Systems: United Airlines features Audio-video on demand (AVOD) with games, movies, music, Satellite live TV with top channels (All on personal televisions PTVs) on select flights for purchase or is offered complimentary on some premium cabin services. Traveling with your Pet or Service Animal: Pet-friendly airline will accept domesticated cats, small dogs, rabbits and birds in the cabin of aircraft for a fee of ($125 one way) some requirements and restrictions apply. Cabin Pets are not permitted on flights to, from or through Australia, Hawaii or Micronesia (including Guam). Pets are not permitted in United Global First, United First, United Business First or United Business on Boeing 747, 757, 767, 777 or 787 aircraft due to limited storage space under the seat. A customer traveling with an in-cabin pet in United Economy on Boeing 757-200 aircraft will need to be seated in a window seat due to limited storage space under aisle and middle seats. (4) Pets per flight are allowed in United Economy on all United flights. Pets are not permitted to travel in the cabin or as checked baggage on flights to/from Australia, (exceptions may be made for service animals). All dogs and cats must be (8) weeks old and have been weaned for at least (5) days before departure. The maximum dimensions for hard-sided kennels are (17.5 inches long x 12 inches wide x 7.5 inches high) (44 cm x 30 cm x 19 cm). The recommended maximum dimensions for soft-sided kennels are (18 inches long x 11 inches wide x 11 inches high) (46 cm x 28 cm x 28 cm). Soft-sided pet carriers may exceed these dimensions slightly, as they are collapsible. Pets must be traveling on the same flight as the owner. Only domesticated dogs, cats, household birds (canary, finch or parakeet), rabbits, hamsters, and guinea pigs may be accepted as checked baggage, and Kennel fees vary depending on the size. Fees and pet policies may be subject to change at any time.

Service animals are accepted in the cabin when accompanying qualified individuals with disabilities. The only service animal permitted into Hawaii is a service dog with appropriate health documentation. There are restrictions regarding the entry of service animals into Hawaii. Customers traveling with an emotional support or psychiatric assist animal must provide a minimum (48) hour advance notification.

Carry-On Baggage: Each Passenger may bring one personal item (purse, briefcase, laptop, etc.) plus one carry-on bag. Personal item must not exceed (9 inches x 10 inches x 17 inches, or 36 linear inches) to fit under the seat. For a carry-on bag to fit in the overhead bin, your item must not exceed: (14 inches x 9 inches x 22 inches (23 x 35 x 56 cm) or 45 linear inches (114 cm). Passengers may carry the following infant and child articles on board, in addition to the maximum carry-on baggage allowance: Diaper bag, Government-approved child seat (infant carrying seat or car seat).

Checked Baggage Fees for a Single Ticket Per Bag One Way: Checked baggage allowance and fees may vary depending on cabin status, airline member status, military status, itinerary and date of purchase. Standard Fees 1st bag $25, 2nd bag $35, 3rd bag $125. Bags checked in addition to the passenger’s baggage allowance $125 per bag and up to $200 per bag on some international routes.

Overweight baggage: (51-70 pounds (32kg):$100 fee per bag, (71-100 pounds (45 kg): $200 fee per bag and up to $400 per bag on some international routes. Overweight items in excess of (100 pounds (45 kilograms) or 115 linear inches (292 cm) (total length + width + height) will not be accepted as checked baggage. Assistive devices, including electric wheelchairs weighing more than 100 pounds (45 kilograms), will continue to be accepted at no charge. United Airlines will accept one wheelchair or other assistive device per customer in addition to the checked baggage allowance at no additional charge.

Over-sized baggage: Customers who travel with checked baggage exceeding (62 linear inches (158 cm) (total length + width + height) will be charged a fee of $100 per piece for travel within the U.S., and between the U.S. and Canada, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Customers traveling to Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, South America, Asia, Australia, Micronesia, Europe, the Middle East or Africa with oversize baggage will be charged a fee up to $200 per piece. These charges are in addition to any charge assessed for additional or overweight baggage. Baggage measuring more than (115 inches (292 cm) (total outside dimensions; length + width + height) will not be accepted as checked baggage.
